FLOORLINE CREATIONS

NATURAL CORK PRODUCTS

background pattern

Cork flooring is made by harvesting the bark of cork oak trees, boiling and grinding the bark, and then binding it with resins and compressing it into sheets, tiles, or planks.

The cork oak tree is not harmed during harvesting, allowing it to grow new bark every 9-12 years, making cork a sustainable and renewable material.

The process utilizes leftover cork from wine cork production and incorporates eco-friendly, water-based adhesives to create a durable and eco-conscious flooring product

  1. 1. Harvesting:

The outer bark is manually stripped from the cork oak tree (Quercus suber) every 9-12 years, a process that does not damage or kill the tree.

  2. 2. Drying and Boiling:

The harvested bark is dried for several months and then boiled to make it more pliable and easier to process.

  3. 3. Grinding:

The boiled bark is ground into granules.

  4. 4. Binding and Compression:

The ground cork is mixed with natural resins, often water-based and low in VOCs, and then compressed under high pressure to form solid sheets, tiles, or planks.

  5. 5. Finishing:

The pressed cork material can be left as is or have a protective finish applied, such as a polyurethane coating, to enhance its durability and water resistance.

CORK INSULATION

Insulation cork panels

Insulation cork panels joins the unique characteristics of the cork material with a very rigorous manufacturing process that allows to achieve great levels of mechanical, sensorial and microbiological properties.

The cork granules size and density had been perfected to achieve a perfect balance of elasticity, homogeneity and tensile strength.

Black agglo cork sheets LD

Natural product with vegetal origin obtained from the expansion of cork granules through a water vapour process.

Black agglomerated cork sheets have excellent insulating characteristics (thermal, acoustic, vibration).

In the entire production process, we use zero synthetic materials and fossil combustibles. The water vapor process is done using only biomass.

Cork rolls

Agglomerated cork rolls joins the unique characteristics of cork material with a very rigorous manufacturing process that allows to achieve great levels of mechanical, sensorial and microbiological properties.

The cork rolls can be used in a wide range of usages such as bulletin boards, hot pads, coasters, insulation, underlayment, arts & crafts projects, DIY projects and much more.

Cork rubber rolls & sheets

With applications in industries as demanding as automotive, electrical, aerospace, among others,

Cork rubber is a multipurpose material that can be used in a wide range of industries.

The mixture of cork granules with recycled rubber through a high-end technological process allows to create a material with excellent levels of technical, mechanical, sensorial and microbiological properties.

Natural cork sheets

Natural cork sheets can be used in the production of a wide range of products in the cork

industry such as cork paper, cork fabric, flooring and walling…

Cork characteristics (elasticity and low permeability to liquids and gases) provide an excellent material to be used in the manufacture of the most diverse products.

FLIP BOOK OF DESIGNS

Cork flooring is an eco-friendly and comfortable flooring material made from the bark of the cork oak tree. It is known for its natural insulation, softness underfoot, and sound-dampening properties. It is available in glue-down tiles and floating planks, which come in a variety of styles, finishes, and colors.

Types of cork flooring

Glue-down tiles

  • Solid cork tiles are adhered directly to a subfloor.

  • This method is better for high-traffic or high-moisture areas like kitchens and bathrooms because it offers greater stability and can be sealed more effectively.

  • For a flawless appearance, this installation method requires a perfectly smooth and flat subfloor.

Floating planks

  • Also known as "click-and-lock," these planks snap together and rest on top of the subfloor without adhesive.

  • Installation is relatively easy and DIY-friendly.

  • Some waterproof floating planks feature a rigid cork or high-density polyethylene (HDPE) core, making them suitable for bathrooms.
