MARMOLEUM

Marmoleum is the brand name for a type of natural linoleum flooring made primarily from linseed oil, pine resin, and wood flour. Produced by Forbo Flooring Systems, Marmoleum is known for its durability, sustainability, and wide variety of colors and designs.
How Marmoleum is made
The manufacturing process uses natural, climate-positive raw materials and traditional techniques.
Linseed oil and pine rosin are mixed in boilers to create a binding agent called "linoleum cement".
This cement is stored for up to two weeks until it achieves the correct elasticity.
Wood flour, limestone, and natural pigments are added to create a homogeneous, colorful mixture.
This material is then pressed onto a natural jute backing.
The finished sheets are cured in special drying chambers for several weeks, then given a protective, UV-cured finish.
Key benefits
Natural and eco-friendly: Made from up to 98% natural raw materials,
Marmoleum
is biodegradable and produced in a climate-positive process.
Durable: It is resilient against scratches, stains, and heavy foot traffic, making it suitable for both residential and commercial spaces.
Hygienic and healthy: Its natural bacteriostatic properties inhibit the growth of microorganisms, including MRSA. It is also anti-static and reduces allergens like dust mites, making it beneficial for people with asthma or allergies.
Wide design range: Marmoleum is available in more than 300 colors and numerous designs, including options that mimic stone and marble.
Easy to maintain: The Topshield Pro finish prevents dirt from sticking, making the floor easy to clean without waxing or polishing.
Comfortable underfoot: Despite its durability, it offers a softer and warmer feel than many other hard flooring options.
